Custom Natural Diamond Heart Pendant – A Love Story in Jewelry
This special project began with an impromptu meeting that turned into one of the most heartfelt custom pieces I’ve ever created.
A client came to me on behalf of her aging father, who was too ill to leave home but had one very important wish: to gift his wife of 60 years a beautiful natural diamond pendant. He was set on a heart-shaped necklace with a large, high-quality natural diamond set in the center—something meaningful, timeless, and deeply personal.
If you’ve ever searched for a piece like this in a traditional retail jewelry store, you know how difficult it is to find. Most stores carry mass-produced heart pendants that simply don’t offer the size, quality, or personalization this project needed. This was clearly a piece that required custom jewelry design.
Together, we reviewed several heart pendant styles and ultimately chose a unique sideways heart design—elegant, modern, and just the right balance of bold and delicate. The client placed complete trust in me to select the perfect center diamond and design the layout for the surrounding accent stones.
